Lovely little interview – the perfect length for sharing with my daughter – just perfect! The only thing I’d perhaps add from my own experience is that “guessing”, or at least having a hunch can sometimes play an important part in the early stages of research. Of course then you go on to experiment and research, but sometimes a, (informed) guess or a hunch is the creative leap you at least I needed when I was researching.

On a lighter note Deb, I don’t know how you feel about awards – I know sometimes they’re more of a bind than a pleasure, but in case you feel like a bit of celebrating there’s something for you today on my blog:

🙂
If you don’t want to pass on the award I quite understand – I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but I hope a few new readers will discover you at least coming from my site.

I’m glad you think it’s a good length, I’m thrilled how many people have agreed to be interviewed so I thought 5 questions isn’t asking too much.
I agree that a guess or hunch is the beginning of an answer, there’s a beautiful quote from Isaac Asimov “The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not “Eureka” but “That’s funny…”
So first you have to notice the funny thing, then you have to back it up and show it works everywhere!

And on a lighter note thank you so much for the award, I’m honoured. I love reading your blog!
