Congrats on the book. As a mum (and fellow scientist) I am looking forward to reading and finding new ways to get my wee girl into science. I’ll join you with a wine

Deb February 26, 2010 at 5:08 pm

Cheers! My husband has just given me a plate of camembert, olives etc and two panadol for my gallstone!

momi February 26, 2010 at 5:11 pm

Congratulations Deb! I’m really excited for you, and looking forward to using the ideas in your book with my budding scientist ๐Ÿ™‚

Deb February 26, 2010 at 5:30 pm

Thankyou! It might help keep her busy when you’re so busy. Not long now?

momi February 26, 2010 at 5:31 pm

I’m 27 weeks now, so not too long!

Deb February 26, 2010 at 5:36 pm

How exciting ๐Ÿ˜€

Jenny February 26, 2010 at 5:40 pm

Wow! Thank you Deb, the book is great! So many ideas I wouldn’t have thought of (and in fact didn’t with #1 and #2..lucky #3). Thanks again ๐Ÿ™‚

Deb February 26, 2010 at 5:44 pm

Thankyou! You’re very quick, have fun ๐Ÿ™‚

Rosie February 26, 2010 at 5:55 pm

Hey Deb!
Thanks for the download! I look forward to doing them with my kids. They’re almost 5 yr old twins & a 6 year old.
It’s cicada shell season at the moment. Have your kids been out looking for them? My kids are just fascinated by them.
Going to read your book now

Deb February 26, 2010 at 6:06 pm

We don’t seem to get them here, although they have them in Alice which is relatively close. We’re having a great time catching grasshoppers at the moment, although one landed on the little one a couple of weeks ago and now she has complete hysterics when she sees an insect.
Hope you enjoy it.

Lisa February 26, 2010 at 6:28 pm

Congrats Deb! Can’t wait to read it soon.

Deb February 26, 2010 at 6:37 pm

Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ Are you sponsoring the hunt? I was away when it went out to sponsors so I’ve missed out this time, feels really weird.

Fiona February 26, 2010 at 6:30 pm

Thanks, Deb, you’ve done a great job! Fantastic to have your info in e-book form – I find it so much easier to use & refer to. Very exciting! And now, don’t mind if I do grab a piece of that pizza…

Deb February 26, 2010 at 6:36 pm

Yep, blogging’s wonderful as an ongoing thing, but I can see people really need everything there where they can find it to use it.
The pizza’s very yummy.

Julie February 26, 2010 at 7:18 pm

Congratulations Deb. Looking forward to reading and sharing it:)
Oh for a cold beer but I’ll have to settle for a softie….

celtic_sparrow February 26, 2010 at 7:23 pm

Congratulations Deb!! I look forward to reading your book soon!!

Valmae and Laurie February 26, 2010 at 7:34 pm

Well done Deb. It’s great. We’re most impressed. I’m glad we found the party. We’re looking forward to having a good read.

Deb February 26, 2010 at 7:43 pm

Thankyou all. I hope it’s useful and fun.
Julie I knew with all the pregnant ladies around I’d need to have the softdrinks, plus I’m a responsible party host, can’t have you driving home!

Sarah February 26, 2010 at 7:52 pm

Great work Deb, looking forward to reading it ๐Ÿ™‚

Timbo February 26, 2010 at 7:54 pm

Well Done Deb
I showed my friend Kate and she thought it would be great with her two kids. She is going to share it around.
I saw the beer at the party and had to have one myself!
I’m proud of you.
Timbo

Deb February 26, 2010 at 8:04 pm

Thanks Tim. I hope it works for her and others. Virtual beer is the best sort, says she with a glass of sparkly.

Shelagh February 26, 2010 at 8:48 pm

Congratulations Deb. I am planning to try out some of these ideas with my guide groups. Thank you!

Hey Deb, Congrats – everything looks great. Look forward to exploring it further.Well Done! And I’ll have a red thanks…or a coffee and port?

Deb February 26, 2010 at 9:23 pm

Didn’t even think of those, I think a white port would go beautifully with the dessert.

Tam February 26, 2010 at 10:01 pm

This is a great resource Deb, as is the blog…thanks so much!

Kristine February 26, 2010 at 10:48 pm

Congratulations Deb. I look forward to reading it.

Zoe @ Playing by the book February 27, 2010 at 1:33 am

I’m really looking forward to reading this over the weekend, and then an experiment or two with the kids ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks so much for all your hard work.

Sophie February 27, 2010 at 8:12 am

Fantastic! Hubby is the more scientific one in our relationship, but I don’t think he’s grasped that he could be playing science with DD already. Hopefully this will help! ๐Ÿ™‚

Charndra from My Green Nappy March 3, 2010 at 1:28 pm

Congratulations, Deb,
it is a fabulous resource. I have already been enjoying your tips and being inspired to notice science – angles to things we do. We had a hoot yesterday doing static balloons and seeing how many balloons we could get stuck to my sons hair – he was hysterical with laughter!

Thankyou so much for the ebook and your blog – great ideas for real people. As a kinder teacher who is full of good intentions but sometimes short on the followup knowledge, it’s very much appreciated.
I also coordinate an occasional column about 0-8 for our little local country newspaper – I was wondering if I could ask you for permission to put one of your posts about doing science with babies into article form, acknowledging you of course…it’s got to be under 500 words and I pop a photo of a local child in as well. I would send it to you first for your approval. Let me know what you think……

Forgot to say thanks for the sparkling apple juice (did I see it on the table there amidst the party fare?) – sorry I’m a bit late for the book launch, but glad to see the pizza’s still warm…..!
