We are big rice play fans here, especially on days where sand play is off the menu 🙂

Rice is great fun! Do you find they get it everywhere though? My two like to distribute it around the house! I have to remember to do it on a day when the vacumning needs to be done 😉

I like to colour the rice brightly, then mix it into a contrasting coloured playdough.

Narelle we do it in the bathroom, luckily we have a nice big one. They’re very good at staying in there for things like rice and water play, then vacuuming!

Hear Mum Roar I’ve coloured it and I’ve put it in playdough but it didn’t occur to me to do both!

Some of the facebook ‘likers’ have also suggested burying or hiding things for kids to find, we’re going to have to do that one it sounds great.

That looks like a lot of fun. I remember as a kid, we lived in Nepal, and one of the regular tasks we had was picking grubs out of the rice! This looks like much more fun 🙂

Living in Nepal would be amazing. Picking grubs out, not so much. I’m glad we just get to play.

Don’t worry, my girls do eat it! I suppose that’s an advantage over sand.
