I have no idea on most of these, but I’ll take a stab anyway!

1. I thought it was something to do with them not really having leaves etc? i.e. their structure means that they can survive on very little water as they lose less through evaporation or something?

2. No idea – 100 years?

3. Do they burrow underground? Are they nocturnal?

4. Do you mean the deserts or the mountain ranges? Or both I guess. Ummm… well I thought mountain ranges were where the plates of the earth push together.

5. It’s a Tassie tiger. Did they live in desert areas? Did their stripes/colour camoflage them? That’s all I can think of.

At any rate, I figure this way at least you’ll know I’m reading!

All replies cheerfully accepted – as you say, it lets me know there are readers!

1. Yes that’s one of the adaptations they use, similar to things like acacias as well.
2. Wait until Friday 😉
3. Yes and yes.
4. I meant the deserts, and yes the two major mountain ranges involved are the Andes and Himalayas which are both from tectonic movement.
5. Yes to the Tassie Tiger.
