Looks like a wonderful and mysterious time had by all. I think a love of fire is inherent. in humans I love candles too but seldom burn them Perhaps because I have a gas cook stove and wood stove for heat I get my fill of flames

We love to do that when my kids were younger. Happy WW.

I used to love it when the power went off when I was a kid and we had the candles out! I love the little smiley candles

The big girl insisted on them for her birthday 🙂

Candles are so much fun! I especially like that you even experimented with using wax to hold things together.

With the dark nights on the way in the UK, now seems just the right time for exploring with candles – thanks for the ideas, and thank you for sharing with the Play Academy.

Is there any kid who doesn’t love candles? I am surprised any candle makes it passed one birthday with Princess and two nephews constantly wanting them lit and blown out! Although, an accident with hot was on the hand watching Carols by Candelight has orevented any interest in larger candles in this house 🙁

What a pity, I’m a bit nervous with hot wax. But it’s also fascinating!

I’m going to try this with my 3 girls. I too remember loving playing with wax as a child. They will love this I’m sure – if I can convince my 6 year old daughter who is our houses’ self appointed Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) officer!!! 🙂

What a great idea! I will have to give it a go with the boys! I do like touching warm, soft, melted wax too!

Thankyou 🙂 I’m sometimes a bit shocked to remember the little one is only 2, but big girl is 5 – that’s practically grown up! 😉 Then I look at someone like Teacher Tom and think that I keep them sheltered.
