
I adore it when things are as beautiful as they are functional. I took this picture with the iPhone that has also replaced my watch. But no matter what cover I put on it, it will never be as beautiful as this sun dial. And no matter how good my phone plan, it will never be as connected. How can satellites and radio waves match the grandeur of the earth and sun itself?

They can’t! I would much rather look at a sun dial that a digital clock. In fact we don’t own any clocks other than the one on my computer. I don’t wear a watch or own a mobile phone. But I can tell you what time of day it is by looking out our window.
It’s beautiful waking up in the morning watching the seasons change with the light.
