Wordless Wednesday – The Devil’s Marbles

by Deb on October 6, 2010

Devil's Marbles

The Devil’s Marbles are fabulous rocks about 90km south of here.  Think of them as enormous crystals formed in molten rock that cooled incredibly slowly deep underground.  The edges of the crystals are weak and fracture with erosion, you can see a ‘new’ break and crack in this photo.  Then weathering rounds them, to form the marbles.
