Actually elephants themselves aren’t but this is. I’ve just read some “Elephant Fun Facts” and one of them is:
“Elephants weigh around 4535kg”
Sound reasonable? Really? That’s accurate to the nearest kilogram! Or accurate to 0.02%.
One of the other facts is that:
“Elephants poop about 36kg a day”
So I wonder how that affects their weight?
Why not:
“Elephants weigh around 4500kg” OR
“Elephants weigh about 4 and a half tonnes?”
It’s the equivalent of saying you weigh 83.016kg – are your scales that good?
