I’m not sure about them really being games, but I always think watching steam from the kettle and smoke from the fire are good ways to show gases are there. Also, making gases in reactions – like fizzing when you mix bicarb and vinegar.

How could I forget bicarb and vinegar? Especially since I now know about 7 things to do with it?
I’ve always loved flames, the geek in me finds the idea of high-techy-sounding-things like plasma and ionised gases right there in your campfire very cool.

Found the blowing on the kids to calm them down quite interesting! Wonder if that work with adults, or would they just think you’d lost it!?!? Very intriguing TT!

I giggled. I suppose it’s distracting, doesn’t stop a full on tantrum but it gets their attention.

We taught our dog to give hugs by blowing on her lol I know, totally off topic. That’s the way I roll 🙂 Fun post. Happy T13!

Crayola now has colored bubbles so you can teach them about gasses and colors all at the same time. *smile*

Happy TT,

So many awesome ideas here – I have to consider making wind chimes and parachutes. We also love to use the straws to “race” light balls or crumpled paper.

I had this experiment back in my high school days when we made a clay-made volcano erupt. I did this with my nieces as well and they were so amazed. I explained it to them –I just hope they understood my simple scientific explanation about it. And all I heard was aww. It’s funny how they realize the wonders our world has. Another experiment I let them do is putting mentos on a bottle of soft drinks. It was cool! Thanks for this list!!
