This is great! I have a 5yo and a 15mo and they have just started to really interact — mostly alternating between rumbling good-naturedly and squabbling. They just danced together for the first time yesterday too.
Great ideas Deb!
I find joining in myself reduces fighting or doing something silly – like grabbing one of the toys they are using and running off.
And I like to let my kids get away with a little mischief together (like hiding in the cupboard in mum’s bedroom) that they think mum hasn’t noticed – it’s team building.
Great ideas! Love the idea of dancing together! Teaching is a concept that works very well in Montessori. It’s amazing what a difference it makes when older children have the honor and responsibility of helping teach the younger ones.
