Wow Deb! That is fanatstic and so interesting. I hope I can find one, I want to show Miss Possum.
Wow that is fascinating but also kinda creepy for me! don’t know if I would be brave enough to touch it!
There definitely wasn’t much touching involved. They actually looked a bit like jelly lollies, but the caterpillars were a horrible reminder.
Wait, so the wasps put caterpillars in there for the larva to snack on? Creepy Crawlies are creepy! But I’ve never seen the inside of a wasp’s nest before – how interesting!

Yes, these solitary wasps build the little house and stuff it full of caterpillars, then lay an egg in there and close it up. Some wasps leave the caterpillars alive so they are nice and fresh and just paralyse them, I don’t know what these do because they certainly seemed dead. I do wonder how the larva breathe and how they know which way to get out – maybe they leave a small hole.
Oh what a fabulous view. I have never looking inside a wasp nest
wow thats amazing. Wasps scare the hell out of me.

OK, this is just plain cool! I’m saving to show my oldest when he gets home. We’ve often pondered what was inside those nests, but were never brave enough to find out!
